30 second speech Lions

In regards to eye contact, I made three piles which represented “less eye contact, average eye contact and above average eye contact”. I had 2 students out of 27 rate me with “less eye contact” (which is 7%). I had 14 out of 27 rate me with “average eye contact” (which is 51%) and the last 13 gave me “above average eye contact” (42%). I think that I had pretty good eye contact, but I will try to move the average to above average and have at least 65% “above average” on my next speech.

now in voice level seperated the feed back cards into three groups (below average, average, above average) 1 student rated me below average meaning  only 3 percent. 11 gave me average (40% average) and 57% of the students gave me an above average rating. when i do another speech i will shoot for a 65% above average rating.

and finaly for my timing i know for sure that i did a desent job on this one because it wasnt to long (sidney) or to short, i got 3% (1 student) again for below average. I had 12 students rate me average (44%). and i got 14 students to rate me above average (51%)

Why you will never see me on everest

  1. the weather -on Everest the temperature never rises above freezing. in winter the temperature averages at 36 degrees C and in summer averaging at 19 degrees C
  2. the possibility of malfunction – A Swiss attempt to climb Everest in 1952 failed by just 250 meters, the cause malfunctioning oxygen canisters.
  3. ice falls -The most dangerous area of the mountain is often considered to be the Khumbu Ice Fall, which is particularly dangerous due to the unpredictable movement of the ice falls.
  4. DEATH!!! – the worst year on Everest, for deaths was 1996 when 15 climbers died and 9 on a single expedition. but hundreds of corpses still liter the mountain.

We Remember

The GLC remembrance day assembly is a school tradition and happens every year on remembrance day it usually starts with the singing of the national anthem and the two minuets of silents where we remember the ones who fought for us across seas. then the classes present there dances or skits my favorites where the grade ones who did a little skit/poem they started by saying stuff like “in my country we don’t have clean water to drink, is it like that in your country” acting as if they dint live in a lucky place like Canada and the next kid said “no i live in Canada”

another one of my favorites was my classes the grade 7/8 dance to “see you again” they started with slow moments then the stopped the song and said some lines
“i am one of the thousand men who watched the events across the ocean day after day while sitting at our desks or working on the farms we wondered who would win the war but the day Canada joined the fight. my friends and i talked about it my parents and i talked about it. We knew we would be enlisting i knew i would be enlisting.”
